Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ThoughtBox, including the web application at thoughts.thoughtbox.ai and the ThoughtBox MCP server at api.thoughtbox.ai (collectively, the "Service"), operated by ThoughtBox ("we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal authority to enter into these Terms.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@thoughtbox.ai if you believe your account has been compromised.

You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of someone else without their explicit consent.

3. The Service

ThoughtBox connects your personal cloud storage, financial accounts, and communication tools to AI assistants (such as Claude) via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The Service acts as an intermediary — it retrieves data from your connected accounts when an AI assistant requests it on your behalf.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice where possible.

4. Connected third-party accounts

You may connect third-party accounts (Google, Microsoft, Dropbox, Box, Plaid, and others) to the Service. By connecting an account, you authorize ThoughtBox to access that account's data on your behalf to the extent you approve during the OAuth authorization flow.

Your use of connected third-party services is also subject to those services' own terms and privacy policies. ThoughtBox is not responsible for the practices of third-party providers.

You may disconnect any third-party account at any time from the Connections page.

5. AI processing

When you use the Service through an AI assistant, your requests and the data returned by ThoughtBox tools are processed by the AI provider you are using (e.g., Anthropic). ThoughtBox does not control the AI provider's processing of that data. Your interactions with the AI assistant are subject to the AI provider's own terms and privacy policy.

ThoughtBox does not use your data to train AI models.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Access or attempt to access another user's data or account.
• Send unsolicited messages, spam, or harassing communications via connected email accounts.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent security controls, or probe the Service for vulnerabilities without prior written authorization.
• Use the Service for any purpose that is fraudulent, deceptive, or harmful.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of all files, data, and content you store in or access through the Service. By using the Service, you grant ThoughtBox a limited license to access and process your content solely to provide the features you use — for example, to retrieve a file when an AI assistant requests it.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of connected accounts and the content you share through the Service complies with the terms of those third-party services and applicable law.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and documentation, is owned by ThoughtBox and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our written permission.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data retrieved from your connected third-party accounts.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ThoughtBox shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ThoughtBox and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by contacting support@thoughtbox.ai.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately and we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Georgia.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by posting the updated Terms with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
